Back To School Tour

Dancespire is currently on a month and a half tour around arts and dance institutions to strengthen the current dance community. Our first stop was at Calvin College, where we hosted a workshop in their dance studio. Everyone learned a routine to There’s Nothing Holding Me Back By: Shawn Mendes, which had a more jazz feel using a little house style dancing to spice things up. I personally see this tour as a way to help students wind down from the summer to back into the swing of things. Whether you are in Elementary, Middle or High School, everyone needs to relieve some stress. College students need this dearly, with all the papers and assignments coming back to haunt them. People who have never even heard of Dancespire, come to the workshops that appear near them. Some people don’t have a way to get to Imprint every Wednesday, so this is a way for them to still get that experiences we always get for low price. Our next stop being Davenport, the home of some people who already attend DIW, will be one to see. Having people from around the area come by to dance or even watch is an experience we can’t always get staying at our studio. meeting new people and seeing more different styles is what the dance community is all about really. I can tell that nothing but great things can come from this tour, and im eager to see what’s next after this tour flies by.
